Israel-Hamas war live updates: Hamas releases two American hostages; Biden says Gaza aid is coming in 24 to 48 hours
The secretary-general of the United Nations stated on Friday that the group is coordinating with all parties to define the terms for delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza.
Two American captives, a mother and her daughter, were freed by Hamas on Friday afternoon, according to NBC News.
In the meantime, inhabitants of the northern city of Kiryat Shmona, close to the Lebanon border, were urged to leave by the Israel Defense Forces and Defense Ministry of Israel.
Defense Minister Yoav Gallant authorized the evacuation order, which was issued on worries that the Israel-Hamas conflict would escalate into a wider conflict. In recent days, shelling between northern Israel and southern Lebanon, a bastion of the militant organization Hezbollah supported by Iran, has increased.
The governments of the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Saudi Arabia have all urged their citizens to leave Lebanon.
The instructions come as the 14th day of the Israel-Hamas conflict approaches, and many people are worried that an anticipated ground invasion of the Gaza Strip could exacerbate an already terrible humanitarian crisis.
